Sample and Download Indian Ink Tracks and CD
This CD arose out of a collaboration between Barry and Mieke de Laure, a Belgian concert cellist. They met on a Mindfulness retreat a few years ago, and began inventing new cello arrangements by email for some of Barry's songs. This culminated in a concert together in Ghent, Belgiuim, and the following year with the Smoke and Mirrors poetry and song group in Manchester and Birmingham UK. At the end of they year, they decided to record a CD of these songs in Bristol, UK.
Members of Barry's band The Fridge Mechanics contributed James Anderson/acoustic bass, Jamie Hill/percussion, Micko/guitar and Celia Duplock/vocals, and this is the result. The title of the CD arose from a strong visit to India at Xmas 2011 where Barry's partner Sarah Parkinson drew some pictures and made some paintings of the Ghanges. Barry also wrote the title song Indian Ink for the CD and some of Sarah's paintings were used for the CD wallet. A friend, glass maker Mollie Meagre agreed to do some appropriate calligraphy for the CD. We hope you will enjoy this music.
